What You Will Do
- Compliance Monitoring: Develop and maintain Compliance Monitoring systems to ensure Emirates’ airworthiness, maintenance, flight operations, and ground services meet regulatory standards set by authorities like GCAA and EASA.
- System Enhancement: Continuously improve Compliance monitoring systems to exceed regulatory requirements and support effective decision-making.
- Regulatory Approvals: Manage all engineering-related regulatory approvals, including certifications and regulatory activities, acting as Power of Attorney for Emirates, related to matters of operational compliance.
- Certification Management: Oversee engineering certifications and review applications for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Licenses and type ratings.
- Liaison with Authorities: Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies, addressing compliance issues and staying updated on regulatory changes.
- Contractor Oversight: Monitor and audit contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with Emirates' quality standards and develop corrective actions.
- Trend Analysis and Reporting: Analyse data to identify trends and risks, resulting from Compliance Team events’ investigations, and report findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Manpower Planning: Ensure the Compliance Monitoring department is well-staffed with skilled personnel.
- Human Factors Strategy: Implement strategies to enhance human factors in engineering and promote a culture of responsibility and excellence.
- Team Management: Lead and develop the Compliance Monitoring team, ensuring they are well-equipped to conduct investigations and enforce quality and safety measures.
Qualifications & Experience
This job might be for you if you have:
- Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Airline Management or must hold or have held Maintenance Engineer License or Commercial Pilot License or have worked within the quality/compliance area of an airline or at a maintenance facility.
- 12+ years’ experience in Engineering/ Maintenance or Commercial Aircraft Operation organisation including Management of Quality Assurance (QA) and/or Safety Management experience of which 3 years in Senior Management level in a Safety and Compliance role.
- Thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks and associated regulations such as CAR/EASA M, 145, 21, 147, Air Ops/Ops 1, STD, ATO, ORA and other relevant regulatory approval codes.
- Knowledge of the principles and implementation of Quality and Safety Management systems.
- A proven track record of good communications across divisional boundaries.
- Airline and Airport Management Business knowledge and how QA influences results and achievements within maintenance, engineering, operations and ground handling activities and their contribution to the overall success.
- Strong report writing and analytical skills.
