POSITION SUMMARY

This job description sets out the current duties of the job role that may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the job role or the level of responsibility entailed.

JOB SUMMARY

The Kids Club Animator is responsible for receiving all incoming guests by giving a courteous greeting directing them to the checkin desk ensuring a positive first impression and efficient processes for handling clients and babysitting their children. The Kids Club Attendant is also responsible to ensure that guest refreshment bars and owner refreshment trays are stocked as well as maintaining cleanliness environment of the Kid Club facility. He/ She can supervise and plan all activities offered through the Kids Club. Planning ahead and prepare for activities according to the activity calendar ensure all children attending the Kids Club have been registered by a parent or guardian. Create new and exciting activities to drive enthusiasm for all children in the resort Personally contribute to the youth programs team goal of providing fun educational and caring services to the children of members and guests in a warm and welcoming environment. As a Kids Club Attendant you are responsible to ensure that all Kids Club responsibilities are carried out in an efficient and timely manner. Must maintain the policy and procedure of Marriott International.

Education or Certification

  • Should ideally have a diploma or a vocational training in a kindergarten / children care related field with previous similar work experiences. A true passion for children and a creative but caring mind are essentials.
  • Good command of English and good interpersonal abilities are additional required
  • Certification in Child CPR and First Aid required

SPECIFIC DUTIES

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

  • Create new and exciting activities to drive enthusiasm for all children in the resort
  • Consistently offer professional friendly and engaging service
  • Ensure all children attending the Kids Club have been registered by a parent or guardian
  • Open and prepare Kids Club for daily activities; ensuring all supplies and events are ready for the day
  • Plan ahead and prepare for activities according to the activity calendar
  • Patience in dealing with children and customers
  • Ensure a safe clean and fun environment
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and properly maintained ensuring regular feedback is given to Recreation Manager
  • Maintain stock of items required for kids activities such as paints crayons papers toys etc. through inventory and ordering new stock when needed
  • Responsible for children attending the Kids Club area and ensure safety and security at all times
  • Ensure all areas are clean and well maintained
  • Provide a high level of guest satisfaction through effective communication
  • Follow hotel/ departmental policies and procedures
  • Follow all health and safety sanitation policies and procedure
  • Personally contribute to the youth programs team goal of providing fun educational and caring services to the children of members and guests in a warm and welcoming environment
  • Build rapport with and take a genuine interest in all children and parents utilizing the clubs child activity services. Supervise onfloor operations and staff during shift
  • To have a creative and educational activity on daily basis.
  • Offer a full varied innovative and targeted calendar of activities and events for boys and girls who visit.
  • Maintain the facility and equipment/supplies to company standards for cleanliness and safety
  • Assist with special projects events specialty classes and party planning for the youth program.
  • Be fully aware of clubs facilities timings promotions and prices
  • Participate in everyday activities such as organizing arts and crafts time leading games reading stories and singing songs.
  • Promote the clubs youth programs and activities.
  • Assist parents in program registration and discuss any behavioral issues of child.
  • To help keep facilities and equipment clean neat and well maintained.
  • Report accidents injuries and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.

OTHERS

Safety and Security

  • Report work related accidents or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor.
  • Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean safe and secure environment.
  • Notify Loss Prevention/Security of any guest reports of theft. Policies and Procedures
  • Follow company hotel and department policies and procedures.
  • Follows Marriott International Hotels Limited Regional Office policies and procedures Protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary materials and information.
  • Ensure uniform nametags and personal appearance are clean hygienic professional and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Protect company tools equipment machines or other assets in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors and Management.
  • Working hours as required to do your job but normally not less than 48 hours per week. Guest Relations
  • Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions concerns and requests using brand or property specific process to resolve issues delight and build trust.
  • Assist other employees to ensure proper coverage and prompt guest service.
  • Anticipate guests service needs including asking questions of guests to better understand their needs and watching/listening to guest preferences and acting on them whenever possible.
  • Address guests service needs in a professional positive and timely manner.
  • Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay property services and area attractions/offerings.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation and provide a fond farewell.
  • Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile eye contact and a friendly verbal greeting using the guests name when possible.
  • Supply guests/residents with directions and information regarding property amenities services and hours of operation and local areas of interest and activities. Communication
  • Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette including answering the phone within 3 rings answering with a smile in ones voice using the callers name transferring calls to appropriate person/department requesting permission before placing the caller on hold taking and relaying messages and allowing the caller to end the call.
  • Speak to guests and coworkers using clear appropriate and professional language.
  • Talk with and listen to other employees to effectively exchange information. Working with Others Support all coworkers and treat them with dignity and respect.
  • Handle sensitive issues with employees and/or guests with tact respect diplomacy and confidentiality. Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments.
  • Partner with and assist others to promote an environment of teamwork and achieve common goals.
