- **Monitoring Vital Signs:** Regularly check patients' blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and other vital signs.
- **Administering Medications:** Dispense prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring correct dosages and times.
- **Assisting with Daily Activities:** Help patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and eating, especially those who are unable to do so independently.
- **Wound Care:** Perform wound care and dressing changes as required.
2. **Clinical Responsibilities:**
- **IV Therapy and Injections:** Administer intravenous therapy, injections, and other medical procedures as needed.
- **Medical Equipment Operation:** Use and maintain medical equipment such as IV pumps, catheters, and feeding tubes.
- **Sample Collection:** Collect blood, urine, and other samples for laboratory testing.
3. **Patient Assessment and Planning:**
- **Initial Assessments:** Conduct initial patient assessments to understand their conditions and needs.
- **Care Plans:** Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- **Ongoing Monitoring:** Continuously assess and monitor patients’ progress and response to treatments.
4. **Communication and Coordination:**
- **Patient and Family Education:** Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.
- **Interdisciplinary Collaboration:** Collaborate with doctors, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- **Handovers:** Ensure effective communication during shift changes, providing detailed reports on patient status to incoming staff.
5. **Documentation and Record Keeping:**
- **Accurate Records:** Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including notes on care provided, medications administered, and changes in condition.
- **Reporting:** Report any changes in a patient’s condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals promptly.
