- The Staff RN is responsible for implementing, directing, communicating and documenting the nursing process and provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and associates.
- The nurse practices in accordance with current established standards of care, the Nurse Practice Act, the Community Healthcare System policies and procedures, and supports the mission and philosophy of CHS.
- Scope of Care: The IMCU West unit is a 32 bed multidisciplinary 24 hour unit located on the third floor of the Park view Tower in the hospital.
- Patients over the age of twelve years may be admitted to this unit, but the average age is 67 years.
- The highest volume of patients has a medical diagnosis, but surgical patients are also admitted.
- The most frequent diagnoses of include: angina, R/O or Post MI, cardiac dysrhythmia, CAD, COPD, CHF, pre-post PTCA, post stent, general surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring/observation post-op, diabetes, CVA, and peripheral vascular diseases.

Additional Information:
- Our work week begins on Saturday at 11p ends on Saturday 3-11 (including 3-11 shift) On some units an EKG test and Med Test will be required.
- EKG Challenge and Adult medication exam,traveller will allow 2 hours to complete we are told it is quite difficult.
- Traveler needs to be prepared to analyse rhythm strips,how to treat them and identify all other cardiac rhythms,some common and others not so common.

Requirements
Education/Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau.
- BSN desirable. Successful completion of The Community Healthcare Systems Personnel and Nursing Orientation Programs. Obtains and maintains current certification in ACLS, CPR AND NIHHS STROKE CERTIFICATION.
- NO BLOCK SCHEDULING AND LIMIT OF 5 TOTAL DAYS OF RTO WITH EACH 13 WEEK CONTRACT.
- SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF TESTING ON DAY ONE TO FACILITY IN MEDICATION EXAM,EKG CHALLENGE AND NOVASTAT GLUCOMETER,STUDY GUIDES WILL BE PROVIDED BY AGENCY.
- IF TESTING NOT PASSED ON DAY TWO AFTER A ONETIME REMEDIATION OFFER WILL BE RESCINED.
- State License Details: Must Be Currently Active
