Sr. Network Engineer (Kuwait)

The Department of the Army, U.S. Army Central Command (USARCENT), has a requirement for Southwest Asia Theater Signal Service Support (SWA-TS3) to provide a full range of Information Technology (IT) engineering and installation (E&I) services throughout the U.S. CENTCOM and ARCENT area of responsibility.

We are currently looking for Network Engineer in Kuwait to assume responsibility and provide recommendations for network architecture design and implementation of network engineering projects. I this role, you will provide escalation support for projects, including providing recommendations and identifying and tracking necessary corrective action to ensure optimal network performance. You will assist with designing and deploying next-generation functionality, bring your own device (BYOD) onboarding, and security roles in conjunction with controller firewall security enforcement. Ability to function in an Agile environment and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously and ensuring scheduled goals are met. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to make decisions and resolve problems effectively - Seek out information and data to evaluate, prioritize and formulate the best solution or practice. Must be able to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team, share workloads, and deal with sudden shifts in project priorities.

• Provides day-to-day subject matter expertise in the design, planning, assessment, and implementation of network architecture
• Defines and assists with executing Proof of Concept, Proof of Technology, and Pilot activities in support of rationalizing and vetting technologies that provide added value
• Coordinates technology activities with business and stakeholders
• Identifies and provides recommendations for opportunities to engage in co-innovation with strategic vendors and partners in the interest of evolving the network technologies
• Creates and implements detailed action plans
• Maintains compatibility and functionality within current and future network solutions
• Specifies migration path toward current to future architecture while maintaining both as-is and to be solutions
• Provides support in the integration of Network Management platforms
• Assists with designing and implementing secure network configurations for new technologies and devices introduced into the Enterprise
• Serves as a technical resource for the Network Operations Team to provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems
• Coordinates troubleshooting efforts with vendor support engineers and the Network Operations Team
• Assists with designing and managing remote access solutions using secure remote access and for use as telecommuter remote access
• Provides ongoing training to Network Operations staff, completes documentation, training sessions as needed, and one-on-one consultation
• Develops and maintains all networking documentation (drawings, cut sheets, configurations, and deployment plans)
• Identifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting network performance
• Monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources across multiple enclaves utilizing software and hardware tools
• Works with other engineers in support of networking-related projects
• Troubleshoots networking issues and outages, which may occur during non-core hours
• Ensures all networking applicable STIGs and vulnerabilities are resolved or mitigated in a timely manner
• Performs preventative maintenance services on all devices within the networking area of responsibility
• Maintains a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in the data centre as well as a service provider
• Six or more years of 6 years of Network Operations
• Must possess an active Security+ Certification
• Must possess an active CCNA or CCNP (CCIEs preferred)Certification
• Performs other tasks as required by employer and the Government contracting office
