- Interpreting accounting principles and procedures to ensure that the company’s financial statements are accurate and up to date
- Reviewing financial statements for accuracy and performing calculations to ensure that accounting principles have been applied correctly
- Ensuring that accounting standards are followed in order to maintain the integrity of financial records
- Working with managers to create annual budgets that help the company reach its goals
- Communicating with company executives about financial issues that may affect the company’s performance
- Reviewing financial reports generated by other departments within the company to ensure that they are accurate and complete
- Preparing financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other reports that summarize the company’s financial status
