Head of Internal Audit

Horizons is looking for a Head of Internal Auditor with CPA certified to join one of our clients MaskEX. You will lead the Internal Audit Function: Develop and implement the internal audit strategy policies and procedures.

• Establish and Lead Internal Audit Function: Develop and implement the internal audit strategy policies and procedures.
  
• Build and lead a highperforming internal audit team.
  
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability.
  
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and internal controls.
  
• Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements related to the crypto industry.
  
• Ensure the companys compliance with relevant laws regulations and industry standards.
  
• Audit Planning and Execution: Plan and execute internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and processes.
  
• Review and evaluate the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information.
  
• Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present comprehensive audit reports to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
  
• Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with other departments to address audit findings and improve internal processes.
  
• Provide training to employees on internal control best practices and compliance.
  
• Technology and Blockchain Auditing: Stay abreast of advancements in blockchain technology and assess their impact on internal controls.
  
• Conduct specialised audits related to smart contracts decentralised finance (DeFi) and other cryptorelated technologies.
  
• Continuous Improvement: Implement a continuous improvement mindset within the internal audit function.
  
• Regularly evaluate and enhance audit methodologies to adapt to the evolving crypto landscape.
  

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
  
• Professional certification such as CPA is Mandatory.
  
• 8 years of experience in internal audit risk management or compliance with a focus on the crypto industry.
  
• Indepth knowledge of blockchain technology cryptocurrencies and associated risks.
  
• Strong understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
  
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
  
• Ability to navigate a dynamic and rapidly changing industry.
  
• Proficiency in relevant auditing tools and technologies.
