Concrete Technologist

Job Summary

As a Concrete Technologist with 6 to 7 years of experience you will be responsible for

overseeing the quality of concrete production and ensuring that it meets the required

specifications for use in construction projects. You will also provide technical support to

the concrete production team and work closely with engineers and project managers to

ensure that the concrete is suitable for the intended use.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure that the concrete mix design is optimised to meet the required strength

durability and workability for the specific application.

Monitor the quality of raw materials used in concrete production such as

aggregates cement and water and ensure they meet the required standards.

Conduct tests on concrete samples to ensure that they meet the required

specifications for compressive strength density air content and other properties.

Provide technical support to the concrete production team and troubleshoot any

problems that arise during production.

Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure that the concrete

meets the required specifications for use in construction projects.

Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure that the concrete

production process is consistent and meets the required standards.

Keep uptodate with new technologies and developments in the concrete industry

and make recommendations for improvements to the production process.

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Materials Science or a related field.

7 years of experience in the concrete industry with a strong understanding of the

production process and quality control procedures.

Experience with concrete mix design and testing and a thorough understanding of

the properties of concrete.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical

data and identify trends and patterns.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to

nontechnical stakeholders.

Experience with quality control procedures and the ability to implement them

effectively.

Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards related to concrete

production.

Strong computer skills including experience with software for concrete mix design and testing.
