As a Civil Engineer you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of construction projects contributing your expertise to ensure projects are completed safely efficiently and to the highest standards of quality. Your technical proficiency project management skills and commitment to excellence will be instrumental in driving project success and fostering positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Design:
- Collaborate with architects and project managers to develop project plans and designs.
- Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to assess project requirements and constraints.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings specifications and construction documents.
- Construction Management:
- Supervise construction activities and ensure adherence to project specifications codes and standards.
- Monitor progress and performance of subcontractors and construction teams.
- Resolve any technical issues or challenges encountered during the construction phase.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess quality safety and compliance with regulations.
- Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects including materials labor and equipment.
- Monitor project expenditures and track costs to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Identify costsaving opportunities and value engineering solutions to optimize project efficiency.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure construction materials and workmanship meet project specifications and standards.
- Conduct quality inspections and testing procedures to verify compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Address any nonconformities or deficiencies identified during inspections and implement corrective actions.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and hazards associated with construction projects and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and implement measures to minimize onsite risks.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including risk assessments safety reports and incident logs.
- Client Relations and Communication:
- Liaise with clients consultants and regulatory authorities to address project requirements and obtain necessary approvals.
- Provide regular updates and progress reports to clients and stakeholders on project milestones schedules and budgetary status.
- Respond to client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner to maintain positive relationships.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience in civil engineering design construction management and project supervision.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant engineering software.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and client management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fastpaced environment.
- Knowledge of local building codes regulations and construction practices.
- Commitment to safety quality and ethical standards in engineering practice.
