Job Description Site Engineer (Aluminum Glass & Steel Works)
Department: Projects
Reports To: Production Engineer
Location: Dubai & Project Sites
Job Summary:
The Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and executing all on-site aluminum steel and glass installation works ensuring activities are carried out safely efficiently and in compliance with approved drawings method statements and STEEL DISTRICT quality standards.
This role focuses on technical execution site coordination and manpower supervision while all factory production and fabrication planning remain under the responsibility of the Production Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Execution & Supervision
Supervise daily installation works for:
o Aluminum doors windows sliding & bifold systems
o Curtain walls
o Shower enclosures
o Handrails balustrades and related glass works
Ensure installations are executed strictly as per:
o Approved shop drawings
o Specifications
o Method statements
Plan daily site activities and allocate manpower efficiently.
Ensure proper sequencing of installation works.
2. Quality Control (Site)
Monitor workmanship quality on site.
Ensure correct:
o Alignment
o Operation
o Sealing
o Finishing
Implement site installation checklists.
Prepare track and close snag lists prior to handover.
Coordinate rectifications with site teams as required.
3. Team Management
Lead and supervise site teams including:
o Installers / fitters o Helpers
o Subcontractors (if any)
Maintain discipline productivity and professional conduct.
Ensure proper use and care of tools equipment and materials.
Provide on-the-job guidance and support to improve performance.
4. Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with:
o Main contractors
o Consultants
o Clients (site-level coordination)
Attend site meetings when required.
Communicate site conditions measurements and constraints clearly to:
o Production Engineer
o Management
Support smooth coordination between site and factory.
5. Safety Compliance
Enforce PPE usage and site safety rules at all times.
Ensure works are carried out safely and in compliance with:
o UAE safety regulations
o Project safety requirements
Report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
6. Material & Logistics Control (Site)
Request materials through the Production Engineer / management.
Ensure correct materials are received on site.
Supervise proper handling storage and protection of:
o Aluminum profiles
o Glass
o Steel Components
o Accessories & hardware
Minimize damage wastage and loss.
7. Progress & Reporting
Prepare and submit:
o Daily progress reports
o Manpower reports
Highlight delays risks or issues early.
Support handover documentation and DLP follow-ups as required.
8. Driving & Mobility
Travel between multiple sites as required.
Support urgent inspections site visits and coordination.
Use company vehicle responsibly if assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience:
Minimum 10 years experience in aluminum & glass installation works in the UAE.
Proven experience supervising site teams for:
o Doors & windows
o Facades & curtain walls
o Glass works Education
Diploma or technical qualification in:
o Construction o Mechanical
o Civil works (preferred) Licensing
Valid UAE driving license mandatory. Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of aluminum systems:
o Sliding bifold swing systems
o Curtain walls o Shower systems
Ability to read and interpret:
o Shop drawings
o Site layouts
Skilled in:
o Alignment
o Glass fixing
o Sealing o Hardware adjustment
Familiarity with European systems (e.g. Alumil Technal) is an advantage.
Soft Skills
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Clear communication in English (Arabic / Hindi / Urdu is an advantage).
Problem-solving mindset.
High sense of ownership and accountability for site results.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to work on active construction sites and at heights.
Willingness to work extended hours when required.
Comfortable working in outdoor and site conditions.
Requirements
