It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

At Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah Commis (Bakery) isresponsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while assisting with food cost controls.

What will I be doing

As a Commis (Bakery) you will be responsible for preparing high quality bakery items to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Commis will also be required to assist with food cost controls. Specifically you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Basic dough preparation.
• To ensure high productivity and standards of breadmaking and baking are maintained at all times.
• Assist in preparation of pastry cakes tarts and breads.
• Assist in preparation of sweets required as per standard in all food & beverage outlets.
• Responsible to monitor and maintain the quality of food in outlets as well as fridges and freezes.
• Assist in requisitioning of food to kitchen.
• Prepare orders for the service team as required.
• Assist the Pastry Chef and the Pastry Team in the daily operations.
• Follow food safety program at all times.
• Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination.
• Prepare mis-en-place for all relevant menus.
• Assist in positive outcomes from guest queries in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure that all food items are stored correctly.
• Contribute to controlling the food costs.
• Be environmentally aware.
