Location: Al Barsha Dubai
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Pharmacy Operations Manager to oversee the end-to-end operations of GluCares in-house pharmacy.
This role is operational and strategic focusing on procurement logistics inventory optimization supplier management and team performance.
While a pharmacy background or DHA license is not mandatory candidates with prior healthcare or pharmaceutical operations experience will be preferred.
The successful candidate will ensure the pharmacy operates efficiently complies with all regulations and supports GluCares clinical and patient-care objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
- Supervise and support the pharmacy team (pharmacists assistants delivery personnel) to ensure service excellence.
- Ensure compliance with DHA and internal operational standards.
- Develop and implement SOPs to streamline workflows inventory control and quality assurance.
Procurement & Supply Chain
- Manage procurement of all pharmaceutical and medical items from sourcing to supplier negotiation to delivery.
- Monitor stock levels forecast demand and ensure timely replenishment to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Maintain relationships with distributors vendors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliability.
- Oversee the logistics of medication delivery and inter-branch supply between GluCare facilities.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Track pharmacy financial performance including sales margins and procurement costs.
- Prepare periodic reports on inventory purchasing trends and cost control measures.
- Collaborate with the Finance department for reconciliations purchase orders and vendor payments.
- Ensure compliance with internal auditing and reporting requirements.
Regulatory & Quality Compliance
- Support the DHA-licensed Pharmacist-in-Charge with compliance audits and documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure the pharmacy adheres to proper storage handling and dispensing protocols.
People Management
- Supervise coach and motivate the pharmacy operations team.
- Coordinate work schedules and manage performance appraisals.
- Ensure continuous training and professional development of pharmacy staff.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with the clinical and operations teams to align pharmacy processes with patient-care delivery.
- Serve as the operational liaison between the pharmacy management and other departments.
- Ensure prompt resolution of operational or supply-related issues impacting clinical services.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Healthcare Management or related field.
- Extensive experience in operations procurement or healthcare facility management.
- Previous experience in pharmacy or medical supply chain management is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of logistics procurement and inventory systems (e.g. ERP).
- Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and deliver results in a fast-paced regulated healthcare environment.
