International Community Schools (ICS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate **Primary School Counselor** to join our team. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive counseling program addressing the academic social emotional and developmental needs of our primary school students. The counselor will work collaboratively with teachers parents and administrators to create a supportive and nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities
Individual Counseling:
- Provide oneonone counseling sessions to support students emotional social and academic wellbeing.
- Develop and implement individualized plans to enhance student success.
Group Counseling:
- Facilitate small group counseling sessions on topics such as social skills coping strategies and conflict resolution.
- Create and deliver workshops and programs to support student development.
Classroom Guidance:
- Collaborate with teachers to design and deliver classroom guidance lessons promoting socialemotional learning.
- Address topics such as bullying prevention selfesteem and stress management.
Crisis Intervention:
- Provide immediate support and intervention for students in crisis.
- Work with school staff and parents to develop safety and support plans as needed.
Consultation and Collaboration:
- Consult with teachers parents and administrators to address student needs and develop effective strategies for support.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
Program Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with the school s mission and goals.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the counseling program and use datadriven decisions to improve services.
Professional Development:
- Stay current with best practices in school counseling and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Attend relevant workshops conferences and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
Qualifications
- A Masters Degree in School Counseling or a Bachelors Degree in School Counseling with at least 2 years of experience.
- Experience in an international British National Curriculum school or a UK school is desirable.
- Strong understanding of child development learning principles and counseling techniques.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers parents and administrators.
- Commitment to creating a safe inclusive and supportive school environment.
Additional Requirements
- Experience in supporting students in obtaining **UAE Equivalency**.
- Expertise in guiding students in selecting appropriate **post16 pathways**.
- Knowledge and experience with **UCAS applications** and/or **UAE university applications**.
