As an Electrical Commissioning Engineer you will oversee the commissioning and testing of electrical systems for oil and gas facilities. This role involves working on complex offshore and onshore projects ensuring all systems operate as designed while adhering to ADNOC standards safety regulations and international codes.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the commissioning and testing of electrical systems for oil and gas facilities including power distribution transformers switchgear and motor control centers.
- Execute system functionality tests interlock verification and equipment performance evaluation to ensure full operational readiness.
- Develop and implement commissioning procedures schedules and detailed testing plans in collaboration with project stakeholders.
- Coordinate with design construction and operations teams to resolve commissioningrelated issues and ensure a smooth handover of systems.
- Supervise vendor representatives and subcontractors during testing and commissioning activities.
- Adhere to ADNOCs Health Safety and Environment (HSE) guidelines conduct risk assessments and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Prepare and maintain commissioning reports punch lists asbuilt drawings testing data and handover documentation for the operations team.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues during the commissioning and startup phases providing technical expertise during equipment calibration and maintenance.
- Support operational staff with training and guidance on system functionality and safety.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical commissioning within the oil and gas industry with a focus on offshore/onshore facilities.
- Proven track record in commissioning power generation and distribution systems preferably in ADNOC or Middle East projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution protection relays and grounding systems.
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical diagrams technical drawings and control system schematics.
- Excellent project management and coordination skills.
- Familiarity with international standards (IEC IEEE NEC etc.).
- Offshore safety training certification (e.g. H2S Awareness) and technical certifications such as COMPEX PLC programming or electrical system protection are advantageous.
