The Senior Field Electrical Engineer will lead electrical engineering activities for a major onshore oil and gas project in Abu Dhabi. This role involves overseeing the installation testing and commissioning of electrical systems and ensuring alignment with project specifications and industry standards. Extensive experience in field engineering roles on ADNOC onshore or other major oil and gas projects in the Middle East is essential.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and manage field electrical engineering tasks including installation configuration and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications ADNOC standards and industry regulations in all field electrical activities.
- Provide technical guidance and quality control for contractors and subcontractors ensuring all work aligns with safety quality and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct troubleshooting testing and inspections of electrical systems including power distribution transformers switchgear MCCs UPS systems and other electrical components.
- Review and approve engineering drawings singleline diagrams and technical documentation to confirm accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate smooth integration of electrical systems within the overall project scope.
- Conduct site surveys inspections and safety audits to ensure HSE compliance and assess progress of electrical installations.
- Interface with client representatives and project stakeholders providing technical support and ensuring project objectives are met within schedule.
- Document field activities including test results inspection reports and project progress and prepare daily and weekly reports.
- Assist with project planning scheduling and resource allocation for electrical activities to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 1015 years of field electrical engineering experience with at least 5 years on ADNOC Onshore projects or other major oil and gas projects in the Middle East.
- Indepth knowledge of electrical systems in the oil and gas industry including power distribution switchgear transformers MCCs and grounding systems.
- Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills with experience in testing commissioning and quality control of electrical installations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings schematics and singleline diagrams.
- Knowledge of industry standards (IEC IEEE) and ADNOC regulations related to electrical systems in oil and gas projects.
- Effective communication skills with experience coordinating with client representatives and crossfunctional teams.
- Relevant certifications in electrical engineering or project management are an advantage.
