Estimating Engineer

ESTIMATOR

Description:

Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents. Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.

• reading and understanding electrical schematic/wiring diagrams as in related to cable assemblies and electrical enclosures.
• Preparation of complete labor and material estimates for industrial and government projects.
• Prepare BOMs
• Data Entry
• Ability to work in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Close coordination with Project Management and Chief Estimator
  

There is room for growth with this position - currently have a lot of work with the defense industry

Cost Analysis, Cost Reduction, cost estimator, Proposals, Blueprint, Specification Documents, Build of Material, BOM

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must Have:

• 5+ years of experience in an estimating role
• Experience costing/ estimating in electrical components
• Experience working with Excel
  

Nice to Have:

• Electrical engineering degree
• experience quoting / costing both industrial and defense projects
  

Experience Level:

Intermediate Level
