PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior HSE Engineer specializing in Testing and Commissioning with a proven track record in developing and implementing robust health safety and environmental (HSE) management systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and standards during testing and commissioning activities conducting risk assessments and providing HSE training to project teams and contractors.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop implement and maintain comprehensive health safety and environmental (HSE) management systems specific to testing and commissioning activities on projects.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments safety audits and inspections to identify hazards assess risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Provide HSE training guidance and support to project teams and contractors to ensure effective implementation of HSE practices throughout the testing and commissioning phases.
- Review and approve HSE plans method statements and risk assessments for testing and commissioning activities to verify adequacy and compliance with project requirements.
- Investigate incidents accidents and near misses analyze root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor and audit contractor compliance with HSE policies procedures and regulatory requirements and ensure corrective actions are implemented as necessary.
- Collaborate with project management and stakeholders to promote a strong HSE culture and drive continuous improvement in HSE performance.
- Prepare and submit HSE performance reports statistics and documentation as required.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Environmental Science Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
- NEBOSH International Diploma (Level 7) or equivalent certification in occupational health and safety.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in HSE management with a focus on testing and commissioning activities within the construction or engineering industry.
- Strong knowledge of local and international HSE regulations standards and best practices.
- Proven experience in conducting risk assessments safety audits incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Excellent communication leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Certification in Lead Auditor for ISO 45001 or equivalent is desirable.
- Proficiency in HSE management software and Microsoft Office Suite
