Area Sales Manager (Fragrance & Beauty)
General Mission:
Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will drive the brand strategy through distribution optimization & prospection while ensuring the profitability of each POS and key account.
Drive the optimization of the fragrance & beauty distribution network:
- Participate in the midterm & longterm strategy planning of the distribution network
- Prospect openings for both wholesale & retail in line with brand strategy while ensuring profitability
- With the Commercial Manager negotiate space and commercial conditions for new openings and existing POS
- Manage key accounts for regional retailers to drive performance & visibility
- Recommend to the marketing team the ideal trade plan based on market performance & feedback
- Lead the sales budget cycle and ensure the necessary actions are in place to achieve the growth plan
- Follow up closely with all stakeholders to ensure timely payments of invoices
- Ensure achieving the targeted Operating Profit for each market in your zone
Participate in the management of the distribution network:
- Lead the Brand Managers in each local market on sales performance stock holding staff recruitment & retention and space negotiations
- Attract develop and retain talented BAs and ensure best practices in training & performance management
- Work closely with the Learning team to identify the needs of the BAs across the network
- Suggest incentive schemes and competitions to be implemented in each market
- Screen validated and follow up on the placement of orders for each market
- Work closely with the Learning & Marketing teams to ensure the best client experience in the network
Control and monitoring of key indicators:
- Establish the necessary means to achieve the objectives of the sales
- Monitor indicators from all the markets and propose corrective actions
- Make profitability studies by POS
- Monitor the strategy and results of competitors and propose action plans needed
- Conduct market studies to aid in the strategic decisionmaking process
Develop the brand equity in the markets
- Remain selective in all activities conducted
- Excellence in execution for all brand activities
- Ensuring perfect grooming and counter standards
- Recommend opportunities to elevate brand visibility in distribution network
You have a post graduate degree from a business school and at least 45 years of experience within distribution and/or retail management. You have a strong knowledge of the fragrance & beauty industry with a luxury mindset. Strong interpersonal negotiation and organizational skills will be a real asset to succeed in this position. English is a must; Arabic would be a strong advantage. Must be proficient in Excel and Powerpoint. This is a regional position and you will be asked to travel regularly to the markets in your zone.
