Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CFD Engineer specializing in Fire Dynamic Simulation to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in using advanced computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools to design and optimize atrium smoke management systems tunnel ventilation and other fire safety measures. This role involves assessing compliance with safety regulations performing RSET and ASET calculations and modeling various fire dynamics scenarios including smoke propagation and the effects of fire suppression systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Atrium Smoke Design Optimization:
Develop and optimize smoke management systems for atrium spaces.
Perform simulations to ensure effective smoke control and safe evacuation.
Tunnel Ventilation Design:
Design and analyze tunnel ventilation systems for fire safety.
Conduct simulations to assess the effectiveness of ventilation strategies during fire events.
Compliance and Safety Assessment:
Identify and ensure compliance with safety regulations regarding travel distances and evacuation routes.
Perform RSET (Required Safe Egress Time) and ASET (Available Safe Egress Time) calculations.
Fire Dynamics and Modeling:
Capable to Perform CFD modeling of fire dynamics gas dispersion smoke propagation and fire suppression system effects.
Capable to analyze heat transfer and structural response during fire events.
Mitigation Solutions Assessment:
Assess various fire mitigation solutions including passive fire protection fixed fire suppression systems and mechanical systems.
Recommend effective mitigation strategies based on simulation results.
Research and Data Interpretation: Research and interpret published studies technology data and fire test data related to alternative fuel cell technologies and fire dynamics.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in fire safety engineering.
Documentation and Communication:
Document the design development and analysis processes in detailed engineering reports presentations and drawings.
Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to the project team and clients.
Evacuation Modeling:
Model pedestrian egress and evacuation scenarios to ensure safe and efficient evacuation during fire events.
Analyze and optimize evacuation routes and strategies.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Fire Protection Engineering or a related field.
Extensive experience with CFD tools such as FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator) Pyrosis or similar software.
Strong understanding of fire dynamics smoke propagation and fire suppression systems.
Proficiency in heat transfer and structural response modeling.
Knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to fire safety.
Excellent analytical problemsolving and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with pedestrian egress and evacuation modeling software such as Pathfinder or STEPS.
Knowledge in Prescriptive codes (model codes) & Experience in writing and reviewing technical reports and research papers.
