Overall purpose of role
The job holder will be responsible for Managing the Transaction Operations functions inclusive of the following disciplines of Cash Management Operations Client pricing maintenance Corporate revenue recovery liquidity management new product testing and change management . The Individual would lead and deilver all regulatory changes in United Arab Emirates and globally which impact Barclays Bank in the UAE.The role holder will be responsible to ensure that Customer Focus is key across the functions and ensures that constant improvement to the processes i.e automation to maintain a competitive edge over the market practices.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Lead Regulatory ( Central bank of UAE ) Change work with all staekhodlers e.g. compliance product legal Technology and operations to implement.
  • Manage business and strategic change from a transaction ops perspective .
  • Support operations in designing processes for change and also periodic review to create simple seamless and efficient client experiences.
  • Effectively supporting and contributing to the clients growth agendasupporting clients with identifying their channel/product needs.
  • Working closely with all stakeholders to ensure that all SLAs (Service Level Agreement) and KPIs are met on a daily/monthly basis
  • Represent the function in different forums locally in the country i.e Change forum Controls forum New business new products ( Point of contact for Central bank of UAE ) and globally in wider forums; presenting to senior stakeholders across the bank
  • Ability to conduct training on front end application ( Online Channels) for internal and external clients
  • The roles requires to understand the client needs and provide solutions which meet the requirement and relay to back office on implementation
  • Development of controls governance and compliance across the business to implement and coordinate new initiatives and change.
  • Test new systems and enhancements with regards to digital channels Cash Management and Liquidity products and payment operations keeping in mind business scenarios and client needs.
  • Planning forecasting development and implementation of Transaction operations stratergy: people development (across both: Onshore and Offshore teams)
  • Serve as a link between Productcoverage and operations teams.
  • Effectively partner with departments and stakeholders to manage expectations and drive business performance
  • Managing and overseeing internal control requirements including RCAs (Risk & Control Assessment) Record Management Resilience Planning and ensuring a stringent operational framework in line with Group and local policies
  • Provide specialised support to various operations teams in handling specialised Cash Management transactions
  • Ensure compliance with Sanctions KYC (Know Your Customer) MOS (Minimum Operating Standard) policies
  • Proactively validate and refine procedures and improve the process environment periodically in line with market/best practices
  • Innovate and provide feedback to Cash Product Management team for future product enhancements/ changes based on client interaction and competitor analysis

Basic Qualifications

  • Exposure to both UAE Central Bank Payments and Clearing systems ( Schemes GCC FTS DDS ICCS WPSNPSS ) as well as International Payments schemes like Chaps Fedwire Target
  • The role holder should have a good understanding of online banking platforms and be able to lead end to end client implementation covering different file formats XML Swift Fileact Bulk files and properitory file format
  • Excellent knowledge of different Swift format of messages including customer liquidity messages
  • Good knowledge of virtual accounts intercompany loans notional pooling and liquidity managements setups
  • Selfstarter and selfmotivated player able to define structure and prioritise work
  • Project management skills Thorough knowledge of banking and Cash Management product Payments processing and ISO 20022 knowledge
  • Understanding of core banking systems and interface requirements payment message.
  • Exceptional numerical and reporting skills
  • Solid and well defined management skills and leadership qualities
  • Strong interpersonal presentation and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Expert working knowledge of MS office and ability to multitask and adhere to strict deadlines
  • Sound knowledge of KYC (Know Your Customer)/Product
  • Well versed with requirements and and rules of Local Payments schemes of UAE
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills Understanding of AML (Anit Money Laundering) requirements and escalate suspicious transactions to concerned superiors

  • People management
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strong and efficient support for technical requirements based client need.
  • Ability to work with different geographies and quickly adapt to changes.
  • Good understanding of current changes in financial industry and how technology innovations are evolving in the banking industry.
  • Good working knowledge on Core banking Platform like Flexcube Universal Banking Solution (FCUBS) and other product processors like Oracle Banking
  • Proficiency in Arabic would be an added advantage
