Job Description:

Our client a leading player in the global mining industry is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Legal to provide strategic legal leadership and navigate the intricacies of their international mining investments.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic legal advice and guidance on all aspects of the company's international mining investments
• Oversee the negotiation drafting and review of various contracts agreements and legal documents related to mining operations joint ventures acquisitions and partnerships
• Manage legal due diligence processes for potential investments and transactions
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws regulations and industry standards in the jurisdictions where the company operates
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including executives finance and operations teams to provide legal support and guidance
• Represent the company in legal proceedings disputes and negotiations with external parties
• Stay updated on legal developments trends and best practices in the mining and natural resources industry
• Build and maintain relationships with external legal counsel and advisors

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Minimum of 10 years of experience practicing law with a strong focus on international transactions and mining investments.
• Experience with M&A in a Mining Environment.
• Previous experience working in a senior legal role within the mining or natural resources sector is highly desirable.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a reputable law school with a license to practice law in relevant jurisdictions.
• Deep understanding of international business and legal frameworks including contract law corporate law and international trade regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to nonlegal stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Proven track record of successfully managing legal aspects of complex international transactions.
• Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
