Responsibilities:

• Serve as a critical element of site safety by ensuring that people, equipment, and the site don’t come together in hazardous ways.
• Act as an extra set of eyes for drivers, equipment operators, and individual workers.
• Monitor backing operations to prevent accidents and damage.
• Pay attention to cranes and other equipment operating near overhead power lines.
• Protect vehicles and equipment moving through the site, especially on varied terrain.
• Monitor earthmoving processes and underground utilities.

• OSHA 10 Certification: All safety spotters must be OSHA 10 certified.
  • Technical Awareness: Proficient in spotting hazards related to backing operations.
  • Familiarity with construction equipment and processes..
