Quantity Surveyor Piping

Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS LLP) is currently recruiting for Quantity Surveyor(Piping) (temporary role, approximately for 4-5 months) with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry to join our team in Atyrau or Almaty, Kazakhstan (for KZ passport holders).

Responsibilities

• Support estimating team with quantity input to BoQ as provided by engineering for multidiscipline scope during FEED estimate preparation
• Input of subcontract unit rates to quantities contained in BoQ as provided by construction contractors from pre issued scope of work enquiries
  

Qualifications

• Technical university degree
• Experience of not less than 5 years in similar role on site, in Oil & Gas industry projects
• Proficiency in various MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent verbal and communication skills to present strategies, reports to management and in interfacing with contractors, vendors
• Able to work in a dynamic team environment and under tight time constraints
• Competent in writing reports
• Ability to discover issues and recommend solutions to technical and commercial issues uncovered during course of performing assignments
• Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates
• Professional level of ability in the application of standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work execution
• Professional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards
• Technically competent in own discipline, pursues continuous professional development of skills and knowledge according to standards
• Well verse in Schedule of Rates type of contract and different estimating approach from construction subcontractor
