The Strategy Manager will focus on:

  • Business Development: Competitive ysis.
  • Strategic Planning: Annual business planning, business case development, and go-to-market strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carry out research and ysis independently in support of business units, including company strategies, strategic planning process, and key operational issues.
  • Consistently provide insights on business implications of the research and ysis.
  • Draw up implementation strategies toward achieving the set target
  • Actively engage in research of growing trends in the distribution industry and suggest ways of introducing positive strategy
  • Work independently, sometimes receiving general instruction on day-to-day work, and general instructions on new ignments with a focus on tasks and self-contained work streams.
  • Independently interact and collaborate with all stakeholders.
  • Provide direction for competitor ysis to ensure that ysis is aligned with corporate strategy and outputs are insightful.
  • ess trends; Work with senior leaders and their teams across the enterprise to develop a robust process.
  • Identify and evaluate long-term strategic investments, opportunities, businesses, and alliances.
Other key responsibilities include:
  • Strategy Definition: The Strategy Manager is tasked with bringing together crucial pieces of information such as competitor performance, operational performance, innovations, markets, etc., from various internal and external sources to develop strategic options.
  • Strategic Planning: The Strategy Manager is responsible for the development of a decentralized activity planning process and ensuring its adoption across the businesses. He manages the development of corporate plans and budgets by playing a lead role in all the planning and budgeting activities performed by the business and elishes and reviews key strategic priorities and translates them into actionable and quantitative plans.
  • Supports the strategic planning process to ensure that this process is timely, focused, and value-adding. He also ensures that the strategic planning process highlights existing business issues, making certain that these issues are thoughtfully addressed by the laid-out plans.
  • Responsible for the management and development of the business s KPI infrastructure to facilitate ysis and reporting of performance against plans and budgets as well as strategic objectives.
  • Manages the development of weekly/quarterly/annual performance reports for the business s leaders as well as facilitating cross-functional performance reviews for this leadership.
  • Supports the maintenance of an effective strategy department inclusive of management, coaching, and development of strategic management personnel and identifying and advising on areas for enhancement and focus.
  • Tasked with the development of strategic threat identification and evaluation processes as well as overseeing their adoption across the business. He develops different possible scenarios for the mitigation of possible risks and provides recommendations for the management of these scenarios.
  • Responsible for the development of strategic risk reports for the senior strategy management as well as the business s top leadership.
  • Plays the role of a strategy coach to all departmental leadership within the business, providing much-needed support in the formulation of individual department strategies. Owns strategic plans and ensures compliance with these strategies.
  • Review, manage, and yze existing business strategies to provide counsel to the business s leadership and ensure alignment with the business s overall strategy. Also, ists departmental leaders and managers in driving and optimizing the improvement of key value levers that will give the business a sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Manage yses that will provide valuable bench marking for management as well as timely insights into various departments. He will yze long-term market trends to provide recommendations to leadership and management across the business regarding business development opportunities, inclusive of acquisition and disposal strategies.
  • Routinely work with the business s senior executives in setting the vision and agenda of the business and work with the day-to-day planning teams in developing a clear roadmap that will realize the business s vision and also work with the business clients to realize real business issues and develop a strategy for the business s direction from the gathered insights.
  • Supports and leads a variety of strategic efforts inclusive of playing a pivotal role in building annual/long-term strategic plans.
  • Responsible for developing and overseeing the business s corporate strategies to support growth objectives while strengthening the business core to develop and maintain a competitive advantage.


Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of working experience with 5 years in a Strategic role.
  • ociate membership of any of the accounting professional bodies (ICAN, ACCA, CIB, N, etc.) is an added advantage.
  • Interested candidates must have experience in research and strategy in a consulting firm, FMCG or Distribution sector.
