Project Control Engineer
  • Lead, direct, control and advice on the Projects resources and plan to maintain/improve the short and long-term financial health of the company.
  • Developing, Maintaining & Updating Detailed Project Schedules as per Project Requirements
  • Focus on the companybusiness priorities while meeting customer demands.

Job Description:
  • Evaluates the actual position of the project, compares the actual state with the desire state, and take corrective actions.
  • Track and coordinate the progress of the project on a day-to-day basis to ensure that the project is on-track
  • Develops, manage and/or executes all phases of the projects control effort (planning/scheduling, progress performance and cost analysis.)
  • Coordinates and directs projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of activities.
  • Manages and direct the set-up of projects, the collection of data and information for reporting (internal and external) and analysis, the forecasting effort and the internal controls on Projects under execution in liaison with all disciplines
  • Guides project team to analyze, evaluate, and forecast project costs, as well as performance against an established schedule with critical milestones.
  • Assesses the impact(s) of design/construction changes and schedule slippages. Provides the needed expertise and technique in cost control and contract management and coordinates project estimation efforts
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of an established system to show the hierarchy of plans and schedules; keep project and client management fully informed.
  • Directs the needed teams to monitor contractor performance, project deliverables and quality and ensures that projects adhere to quality standards and that risk is minimal
  • Prepare and track estimates of Projects together with Engineering and Tendering Department for submittal to Management;
  • Prepare projects control system to flag out any variances, ideally on weekly basis i.e. Variance in manpower, equipment, planning and revenue;
  • Prepare together with the PM s the core of the monthly budget reporting i.e. Manpower Plan, Equipment power plan, Production follow-ups and Revenue together with Contracts if applicable;
  • Coordinate with Finance Controller where necessary for the budget reporting;
  • Coordinate with Contracts when required.
  • Coordinate with all Departments to insure that the Programme includes all Key Milestones & activities required at project level to perform the delivery of the project scope
  • Ensure knowledge management in order to improve knowledge and best practices withinthe company.
  • Oversee all progress reports (daily, weekly and monthly) and other reports which related to the project progress reports
  • Adhere to health and safety standards of the company and inculcate the employees the same.
  • This is a generalist view of a Job that you have been assigned for at times you may be requested to do above/beyond the scope of this role due to Operational requirements.


Requirements

  • B. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification and project controls and cost control experience.
  • Certification & Membership: Project Controls Management or relevant
  • Industry related experience:Knowledge of Performance management
  • Years of experience:Minimum of 5-07 years of experience in a similar role

Excellent Verbal & Written communication skills
  • Required: Fluent English
  • Arabic and any other language is an asset.

IT skills
  • MS Office
  • MS Project, Primavera P6, Spread Sheets
  • ERP-Oracle
