Turbine Mechanical Technician

JOB PURPOSE:
The role of the turbine Technician is to Carry out ''Critical Work Orders'' & Performs jobs given weekly by the direct supervisor.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES & OBJECTIVES: What duties are required for the position to existing?
Meet /or exceed completion of turbine servicing in assigned area, by way of achieving and maintaining quantified results (QBRs) of service.
Attendance of many shutdowns of Power Plants / Oil Refineries / Power stations (at least 5 shutdowns) where the candidate participated in repairing all kinds of turbines at those plants.
Provide both on-site and off-site technical support to clients:
Deliver site inspections for new quires
Collaborate and work closely with the following Servtech teams to maximize service satisfaction to the client:
Comply with BG Group ethics and trade compliance procedures in all business transactions.

Technical Requirements:
Experience in Outer casing and blade carrier removal
Experience in the removal of Gland packing Heads (LP & HP)
Experience in Front and rear bearing standards removal and Inspection
Experience in Rotor removal work
Experience in Blasting, and cleaning turbine internal parts
Experience in the Reassembly of blade carrier, outer casing, and turbine rotor
Experience in the reassembly of Front and rear bearing standards
Experience in the reassembly of Packing seals heads, balancing piston seal heads and casings
Experience in the alignment and coupling of Turbine rotor and generator rotor.
Experience in disassembly, overhauling, and reinstallation of MSVs, MCVs, extraction grid valves, and related Hydraulic actuators.
Experience in working with lube oil, Control oil, and Gland steam systems
Experience in working on Turbine casing and vent systems.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE/ TRAINING/ QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
Diploma/ ITI in Mechanical
5 years experience in Gas turbine inspection (Preferably MHI).
5 years experience in water turbine inspection (Preferably MHI).
5 years experience in steam turbine inspection (Preferably MHI).

Specific knowledge:
Familiarity with the power, Oil & Gas, and process control industry
Familiarity with all types of turbines and overhauling methods
Knowledge of turbine functions

Ability/Skills:
Language Skills: Fluency in English. Fluency in additional Arabic and other languages such as Hindi is an added advantage.
Mathematical Skills: High level of capability to work with mathematical concepts, and apply them and their proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a wide variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities / important duties performed occasionally or in addition to the essential duties
Coordinate services and clients with company supervisors
Report regularly to HOD on overhauling
