In light of the growing attention that the UAE pay to the medical industry, the demand for a medical coder’s job is constantly increasing in the Emirate of Sharjah as it is one of the most important cities there. 

To work as a medical coder in Sharjah you are required to obtain a work permit in the UAE, and to hold a bachelor’s degree. 

You need also to be able to use new technologies and software programs and to have obtained at least one of the recognized certificates in the field of medicine such as:

• Certified Outpatient Coding (COC). 

• Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC). 

• Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC).
