Electrician Auto Technician

Key Responsibilities:

• Electrical Installations:
  
• Install maintain and repair electrical wiring circuits lighting systems and electrical appliances.
  
• Work with a variety of electrical systems including high and low voltage installations power outlets switches and circuit breakers.
  
• Ensure installations meet local national and international safety standards and codes.
  
• Maintenance and Repair:
  
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  
• Troubleshoot electrical faults using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
  
• Repair or replace faulty electrical wiring switches circuit boards fuses and other components.
  
• Ensure minimal downtime during maintenance and repairs to avoid interruptions to services or operations.
  
• Electrical System Upgrades:
  
• Install new electrical systems or upgrade existing ones to improve energy efficiency performance and compliance with modern regulations.
  
• Modify existing circuits or install additional outlets switches or panels when required by clients.
  
• Compliance and Safety:
  
• Adhere to safety standards and regulations when working with electrical systems to ensure the safety of self coworkers and clients.
  
• Install and maintain safety systems such as circuit breakers surge protectors and grounding systems.
  
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure that electrical systems are compliant with building codes and health and safety regulations.
  
• Blueprints and Technical Diagrams:
  
• Read and interpret technical drawings blueprints and electrical schematics to plan electrical installations and modifications.
  
• Assist in designing electrical systems for new construction projects or renovations.
  
• Customer Service:
  
• Communicate clearly with clients to understand their electrical needs and provide costeffective solutions.
  
• Provide expert advice on electrical system maintenance and energysaving solutions.
  
• Explain the work being carried out to clients providing them with transparent information on the process and costs involved.
  
• Troubleshooting and ProblemSolving:
  
• Quickly identify and resolve electrical faults and issues in both residential and commercial environments.
  
• Offer immediate solutions to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems.
  
• Collaborating with Other Trades:
  
• Work alongside contractors engineers and other tradespeople to ensure electrical systems are correctly integrated with other construction or renovation elements.
  
• Coordinate with team members to ensure the timely completion of electrical projects.
  
• Documentation and Reporting:
  
• Maintain detailed records of electrical work carried out including repairs installations and inspections.
  
• Prepare reports and submit them to supervisors or clients for approval.
  
• Keep inventory of electrical supplies tools and equipment ensuring everything is stocked and ready for use.
  
• Workplace Organization and Cleanliness:
  
• Ensure all tools and materials are stored safely when not in use.
  
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area.
  
• Dispose of hazardous materials such as used electrical components in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
  
• Emergency Response:
  
• Provide emergency electrical repairs for urgent issues including power outages or system failures.
  
• Respond to emergency calls quickly and efficiently ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Electrician with at least 23 years of handson experience in electrical work.
  
• Relevant electrical qualifications or certifications (e.g. City & Guilds NVQ or equivalent).
  
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes regulations and safety practices.
  
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints wiring diagrams and schematics.
  
• Experience in both residential and commercial electrical systems is preferred.
  
• Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.
  
• Familiarity with electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
  
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  
• Good communication and customer service skills.
  
• Physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
  

Skills:

• Proficiency in installing and maintaining electrical systems and equipment.
  
• Expertise in diagnosing electrical faults and making repairs.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to work in different environments including residential homes commercial buildings and industrial sites.
  
• May require working at heights in confined spaces or in adverse weather conditions.
  
• Flexible working hours including evenings weekends or overtime as needed.
  
• Physical demands may include lifting heavy equipment climbing ladders and working in uncomfortable positions for extended periods.
