- Job Overview
Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer shall apply their knowledge and technical expertise in engineering to design install maintain and troubleshoot Electrical Instrumentation and Telecom (EIT) Systems for Substations RIEs Operator Shelters etc. in compliance with local and national regulations design codes and standards and current industrial practices to meet the project objectives.
- Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead and manage electrical instrumentation and Telecom section of the projects from start to completion and handover.
- Act as a primary point of contact with clients providing technical expertise addressing client concerns and ensuring that project goals are met.
- Carry out detailed design of Electrical Instrumentation and Telecom Systems for various projects.
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to junior engineers and designers mentoring them in design general engineering principles and current industrial practices.
- Develop and review detailed designs plans calculations etc. as necessary for each project.
- Review and prepare engineering deliverables list for projects in accordance with the scope of contract and ensuring that all documentation is issued in accordance with the agreed submission schedule.
- Preparation of engineering calculations such as Cable Sizing Calculations / Voltage Drop Calculations / Cable Tray Sizing Calculations / Short Circuit Calculations / Lighting Design Calculations / Load Calculations etc. as required for each project.
- Preparation of Site Survey Reports Installation Method Statement Design Basis Documents etc. as necessary for each project.
- Design and Develop engineering designs in accordance with the project scope and provide inputs to drafting team for preparation of drawings such as EIT equipment layouts drawings Lighting Layouts small power Layouts Cable Tray Layouts etc. as per the projects deliverables list.
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation including design changes correspondence and project records.
- Review drawing outputs. This includes conformance of the output with the conceptual project requirements and the technical details with their discipline.
- Review and verification of constructability of designs and maintainability of installations.
- Coordinate with other discipline engineers part of the project to ensure that EIT designs integrate seamlessly into the overall project without any inter disciplinary clashes.
- Review and optimize engineering designs to minimize material usage reduce construction costs and improve sustainability and profitability.
- Preparation of material requisitions related to Electrical / Instrumentation and Telecom discipline.
- Working with the procurement team for the Technical and commercial evaluation of materials being procured for various projects and ensuring that the materials procured are in line with the project requirement.
- Manage project budgets in material selections and procurement.
- Work with the estimation teams to provide accurate cost estimates technical guidance for electrical and instrumentation projects during bidding stage.
- Conduct site/Fabrication yard visits to ensure that the systems are installed according to design specifications and approved construction drawings.
- Review and identify potential risks and hazards related to design and construction of electrical and Instrumentation and develop mitigation strategies where required.
- Organize conduct and attend technical clarification/evaluation and progress review meetings with Client / Third party Design Consultants project management and fabrication team on a regular basis for the smooth progress of the project and flawless transfer of relevant engineering information/instructions.
- Prioritize safety in all aspects of electrical and instrumentation work. Maintain compliance with safety regulations environmental standards and industry best practices.
- Suggest and develop innovative and costeffective solutions to complex engineering challenges.
- Stay current with industry trends codes and emerging technologies through ongoing professional development and training.
- Adherence to company policies and keeping confidentiality of all vital design / project information
- QHSE Responsibilities
- Recommend improvements to departmental policy and implement procedures.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant QHSE procedures and controls across engineering function to guarantee employee safety health legislative compliance delivery of highquality product/services and responsible environmental attitude.

Academic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience
12 Years of Relevant experience in similar role
