Job Description

Job Title: English Teacher (ADEK Approved)

Location: Al Ain UAE

Job Summary:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a leading school in Al Ain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering highquality English language and literature instruction while supporting the academic social and emotional growth of students. As an English Teacher you will foster a love for reading writing and critical thinking creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment. You will also collaborate with staff and parents to ensure the overall success and wellbeing of your students.

Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Management:

  • Create a Positive Learning Environment:
    Develop and maintain a classroom culture that encourages academic curiosity respect and student engagement. Establish clear rules and procedures to foster active participation and a positive attitude towards learning.

  • Behavior Management:
    Set clear behavioral expectations and maintain a disciplined yet supportive environment. Address any behavioral issues promptly and fairly to keep students focused on learning.

  • Student Supervision:
    Ensure students safety and wellbeing during class breaks extracurricular activities and school events.

Instruction and Curriculum Delivery:

  • Lesson Planning and Implementation:
    Plan and deliver engaging lessons in English language literature and writing that align with the curriculum and academic standards. Incorporate diverse teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners.

  • Differentiated Instruction:
    Modify lesson plans materials and teaching methods to accommodate students with varying learning abilities including those with special educational needs.

  • Assessment and Evaluation:
    Design and administer both formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress. Provide constructive feedback use assessment data to inform instruction and adjust teaching methods to enhance learning outcomes.

  • Technology Integration:
    Use educational technology tools digital resources and interactive platforms to enhance lessons engage students and foster a collaborative classroom environment.

Student Development and Support:

  • Academic Support:
    Identify students who need additional support and provide individualized assistance to help them reach their full potential. Work with support staff to create action plans and provide interventions where necessary.

  • SocialEmotional Learning (SEL):
    Promote students emotional and social development by fostering positive relationships selfregulation empathy and conflict resolution skills within the classroom.

  • Monitor Progress:
    Track and document students academic and behavioral progress. Provide timely feedback to both students and parents and develop action plans for academic improvement as needed.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Parent/Guardian Communication:
    Maintain open and ongoing communication with parents and guardians regarding students academic performance behavior and personal development. Participate in parentteacher conferences and address any concerns promptly.

  • Collaboration with Staff:
    Work closely with colleagues to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to student development. Participate in schoolwide initiatives staff meetings and collaborative planning sessions.

  • Documentation and Reporting:
    Keep accurate and uptodate records of student attendance grades assessments and any notable incidents. Submit necessary reports to the school administration within specified deadlines.

School Activities and ExtraCurricular Involvement:

  • Engage in School Events:
    Actively participate in school events extracurricular activities and field trips that contribute to students personal and academic growth.

  • Supervision of Students:
    Supervise students during nonclassroom activities such as lunch recess and field trips ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

Professional Development:
  • Continual Learning:
    Stay up to date with current teaching methods educational trends and subject knowledge by attending professional development workshops seminars and conferences.

  • Collaborative Learning:
    Engage in collaborative learning through team meetings workshops and peer feedback to improve your teaching practices and contribute to the school community.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor s degree in English Education.
    • A valid teaching certification (specific to the region or country).
    • ADEK approval preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum 1 3 years of experience as an English Teacher or in a similar teaching role.
    • Strong knowledge of English language and literature curriculum teaching methodologies and assessment strategies.
  • Classroom Management:

    • Proven ability to manage a classroom effectively fostering a positive and disciplined learning environment.
  • Communication Skills:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with students parents and colleagues.
  • Adaptability:

    • Ability to adjust teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students and evolving educational demands.
  • Technology Skills:

    • Proficiency with educational technology tools such as learning management systems digital resources and interactive teaching platforms.
  • Organizational Skills:

    • Strong organizational abilities to manage lesson plans grading student records and classroom materials efficiently.
  • Empathy and Patience:

    • A caring and patient approach to supporting students academic and emotional development.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Hours:
    Fulltime position typically Monday to Friday e.g. 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM with occasional evenings for parentteacher conferences or school events.

  • Environment:
    The role is primarily classroombased with occasional outdoor supervision during recess field trips and extracurricular activities.
