Roles and responsibilities
- Assist with developing HSE plans that comply with Company policies and procedures as well as client requirements.
- Ensure training, toolbox meetings, and drills are implemented as part of the training and HSE program, i.e., emergency response systems, etc.
- Investigate and complete the process for close out of all Accident Investigation Reports and prepare/submit lessons learned for promulgation to the management.
- Oversee day-to-day HSE activities in accordance with designated areas of responsibility. Assistance in the implementation of HSE component.
- Assist in the development of project specific HSE procedures.
- Conduct HSE trainings and orientation to all new employees as required.
- Application of hazard identification and risk assessment processes in designated areas of responsibility and implementation of appropriate control measures to reduce the risks to ALARP.
- Ensure HSE requirements are communicated to all relevant personnel in designated areas of responsibility and verify compliance by all appropriate means (meetings, inspections, monitoring, and audits).
- Promote HSE awareness through participating in HSE awareness campaigns.
- Participate fully and openly in all compliance assurance audits, inspections, performance meetings, etc.
- Carry out other related tasks as advised by the supervisor.
Essential Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor Degree (4 years) OR Diploma (3 years) (from an institution of higher learning authorized to grant academic degrees in the country of issue)
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent
- Lead or Internal Auditor (ISO 45001/ ISO 14001)
- Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in HSE in any industry, with at least 1 year experience in construction, fabrication, installation and/or commissioning projects / operations / production in the oil & gas or petrochemical industries.
Desired candidate profile

Skills and competencies
- Ability to conduct HSE orientation / induction/HSE awareness sessions to workers
- Ability to understand and implement HSE plans, Welfare plans, Emergency response procedures/plans and site specific HSE procedures / work instructions.
- Practical experience in implementation of Safe System of Work (PTW/ WMS/ Risk Assessment etc.)
- Awareness of practical H2S control measures.
- Ability to conduct HSE inspections
- Ability to understand and implement incident reporting and investigation procedures
- Ability to speak read and write English with good communication skills
