- 3 years’ experience with master degree in the field.
- Outstanding teaching record
- Outstanding research and publications record in top journals
- Adequate experience in supervising student projects and thesis dissertation.
- Record of collaborative and interdisciplinary research would be an advantage
- Excellent record in community service and scholarly activities
- Eligible for practicing as specialist or consultant as per Ministry of Health & Prevention- UAE regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver courses to students in specified discipline areas of study
- Evaluate and monitor individual student progress and provide feedback to sustain student success
- Organize and manage instructional resources, courses outlines, and community networks
- Conduct high-quality research in his/her own field and publish research outcomes in reputable journals and conferences.
- Ensure a respectful and culturally sensitive learning environment in all college-focused activities
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships across the organization and community
- Motivate and inspire confidence in others (students and colleagues) to overcome limitations to personal growth and success
- Actively seek out methods, procedures, and resources to best achieve course and lesson objectives
- Maintain relationships with students that are conducive to learning
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Supervising dental students in the clinical training on evidence-based dentistry.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Familiarity with the “Credit Hour” academic system
- Ability to supervise student work
- Ability to provide academic advising for students
- Ability to conduct independent research and publish in reputable journals and conferences

Desired candidate profile
1. Teaching and Instruction
- Lecturing: Delivering lectures and seminars on various aspects of endodontics, including anatomy, diagnosis, treatment planning, root canal therapy, and advanced procedures like microsurgery or regenerative endodontics.
- Course Development: Designing, updating, and improving curricula related to endodontics for dental students, residents, and potentially dental hygiene or dental assistant programs. This includes developing syllabi, lectures, case studies, and assessments.
- Clinical Teaching: Supervising dental students and residents during clinical rotations, guiding them through real-world endodontic procedures, providing hands-on instruction, and offering constructive feedback on their clinical skills.
- Laboratory Sessions: Conducting and supervising laboratory-based training where students practice endodontic procedures, such as root canal therapy and other treatments, using models or cadavers before working with live patients.
2. Clinical Practice and Supervision
- Clinical Practice: Some Associate/Assistant Professors in Endodontics also maintain a clinical practice, where they treat patients directly, particularly in the academic setting, where they may provide complex endodontic treatments to the community while mentoring students.
- Clinical Supervision: Overseeing the clinical work of dental students or residents, ensuring that they perform endodontic procedures safely, effectively, and in compliance with the best practices. Offering real-time advice and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Patient Management: Teaching students how to interact with patients, explaining procedures, obtaining consent, and managing patient care throughout the endodontic treatment process.
3. Research and Scholarly Activity
- Research Projects: Conducting original research in the field of endodontics, which may include areas such as root canal therapy innovations, pain management, regenerative endodontics, diagnostic technologies, or treatment outcomes.
- Research Collaboration: Collaborating with other dental researchers, specialists, or academic institutions on interdisciplinary projects. Research topics could range from basic science to clinical applications in endodontics.
- Publishing: Writing and publishing research in peer-reviewed dental journals, presenting at conferences, and contributing to the scientific community’s understanding of endodontic techniques and advancements.
- Grant Writing: Applying for research grants to fund studies related to endodontics. This includes seeking government, industry, or academic funding for ongoing or new projects.
4. Student Mentorship and Supervision
- Graduate and Postgraduate Supervision: Supervising graduate students or residents in endodontics, particularly in their thesis projects or clinical research. Providing guidance on research methodology, case studies, clinical protocols, and writing dissertations.
- Advising: Serving as an academic and career advisor to students in the endodontics program. Offering guidance on course selection, career opportunities, and clinical or research interests.
- Interdisciplinary Education: Encouraging students to learn about the broader aspects of dentistry, including collaboration with other specialties such as periodontics, prosthodontics, or oral surgery. This is vital for comprehensive patient care.
5. Academic Service and Departmental Responsibilities
- Departmental Leadership: Participating in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and assessment activities. Contributing to the strategic direction of the endodontics department within the dental school.
- Committee Participation: Engaging in university or dental school committees focused on academic governance, research development, or student affairs.
- Accreditation: Assisting in ensuring that the endodontics program meets accreditation standards set by dental accrediting bodies, ensuring that students receive quality education and training.
