A Polisher is responsible for finishing and polishing surfaces to achieve a smooth, shiny, and refined appearance. This role is commonly found in industries such as manufacturing, automotive, furniture making, jewelry, and metalworking. Below are the key skills required for a Polisher:
Technical Skills
- Surface finishing: Proficient in polishing a variety of materials, including metal, wood, plastic, and stone, to achieve a smooth, glossy, and flawless surface.
- Tool operation: Skilled in using polishing tools such as rotary buffers, grinders, sanders, and polishing machines to smooth and buff surfaces to the required finish.
- Material knowledge: Understanding the properties of different materials, such as metals, plastics, ceramics, and wood, to apply the appropriate polishing techniques.
- Polishing compounds: Knowledge of various polishing compounds (e.g., pastes, creams, powders) and their appropriate application for different materials and finishes.
- Buffing and smoothing: Expertise in buffing and smoothing surfaces, ensuring that imperfections, such as scratches, dents, and discolorations, are removed or minimized.
Attention to Detail
- Precision: Ability to achieve a high-quality finish by paying close attention to every detail, ensuring uniformity and perfection in the final product.

Desired candidate profile
As a Polisher, you are responsible for maintaining and improving woodwork in the hotel to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Polisher will also be required to make minor repairs. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Brush, spray, or hand-rub polish into wood grain; apply lacquer or other sealers
- Ensure a smooth finish on all woodwork in the hotel
- Improve the finish on woodwork in the hotel
- Examine furniture to determine the extent of damage or deterioration
- Determine the best method for repair or restoration
- Make minor repairs to damaged furniture
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
