Roles and responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex transportation planning projects, from conception to implementation
- Develop and apply advanced transport modeling techniques to analyze traffic patterns and predict future transportation needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create comprehensive transportation strategies and master plans
- Conduct thorough impact studies and provide expert recommendations for transportation infrastructure improvements
- Utilize cutting-edge software and tools to simulate and optimize transportation systems
- Mentor and supervise junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports and presentations to stakeholders, including government officials and clients

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geography, Urban Planning, or a related field (mandatory)
- Master's degree in Transportation Engineering and Planning (highly advantageous)
- 7-12 years of progressive experience in transportation engineering and planning
- Membership in a professional institution such as CIHT, ICE, or TPS
- Eligibility for chartership/certification/license (e.g., P.E., P.Eng., CEng, Chartered Transport Planner) is preferred
- Profound understanding of transport planning and modeling principles
- Expertise in industry-standard software including Cube Voyager, PTV Visum, PTV Vissim, SIDRA, Synchro, and HCS+ Working knowledge of Abu Dhabi Strategic Transportation Evaluation and Assessment Model (STEAM)
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for large dataset manipulation and analysis
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS packages (e.g., ArcGIS)
- Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
- Strong project management abilities, including experience in leading small to medium-scale projects
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor junior team members
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to travel locally within the UAE and regionally to neighboring countries
- Familiarity with local transportation regulations and standards in the UAE

3. Transport Modelling and Analysis
- Traffic Modelling: Utilizing advanced transport modeling software (e.g., Visum, VISSIM, SATURN) to simulate traffic patterns, congestion, and transportation demand to inform planning decisions.
- Data Analysis: Analyzing large sets of transport data (e.g., traffic counts, travel surveys, public transport usage) to assess transport system performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Impact Assessments: Conducting or overseeing environmental, social, and economic impact assessments related to transportation projects, ensuring that any negative impacts are mitigated.
4. Policy and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensuring Compliance: Ensuring transportation projects and plans comply with local, national, and international transportation standards, regulations, and policies.
- Advocacy and Public Engagement: Engaging with the public, stakeholders, and government officials to advocate for transportation policies, projects, and innovations that align with community needs.
- Sustainability Integration: Incorporating sustainable transport solutions, such as electric vehicle infrastructure, cycling lanes, and green transport initiatives, into long-term planning.
5. Sustainable and Innovative Transport Solutions
- Promoting Sustainable Transport: Advocating for the adoption of eco-friendly transport systems, including public transport, car-sharing, electric vehicles (EVs), and active transport (cycling and walking).
