Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain E3D databases and projects
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy
  • Implement and maintain E3D standards and best practices
  • Manage and modify 3D models for Piping, equipment, E&I and Civil modules using E3D software
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design accuracy
  • Manage and track project documentation and revisions
  • Ensure compliance with project data management procedure
  • Maintain accurate records of design changes and updates
  • Provide technical support to engineering teams
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and project managers
  • Participate in design reviews and meetings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering,
  • Minimum 12+ years of experience with E3D software
  • Proven expertise in 3D modelling, piping design, and data management
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills
  • An E3D Engineer (often referred to as an "E3D Designer" or "E3D Piping Designer") specializes in using the E3D (Enterprise 3D) software, commonly used for the design and modeling of piping and equipment in various industrial sectors, particularly oil and gas, petrochemicals, and power generation. Here are the key skills and competencies typically associated with this role:

  • Proficiency in E3D Software: Expertise in using E3D software for 3D modeling, design, and visualization of piping systems and equipment layouts.

  • Piping Design Knowledge: Strong understanding of piping design principles, including materials, fittings, and construction methods, as well as relevant industry codes (e.g., ASME, API).

  • 3D Modeling Skills: Ability to create detailed 3D models, including piping layouts, isometrics, and support structures, ensuring design accuracy and compliance with specifications.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, effectively communicating design intentions and coordinating with mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers.

  • Stress Analysis Awareness: Familiarity with stress analysis principles and the ability to collaborate with stress engineers to ensure design integrity.

  • Project Management: Skills in planning and managing design tasks, including scheduling and resource allocation to meet project deadlines.

  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to identify design challenges and develop practical solutions during the design and construction phases.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Proficiency in preparing technical documentation, including design reports, specifications, and change orders.

  • Quality Control: Understanding of quality assurance processes to ensure designs meet industry standards and specifications.

  • Mentorship and Training: Ability to mentor junior designers and engineers, sharing knowledge of best practices in E3D design and modeling.
