VMWARE Engineer

Top Must Have Skills:

• Strong experience with Microsoft Server products
• Strong experience with VMware products
• Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining VMware environments
• Direct feedback from manager: remove the candidates that were very siloed and only did patch management, low level server builds and very little troubleshooting. We need someone that can take on work and lead that task to completion.
  

Nice to Have Skills:

• Powershell
• VMware certifications, Microsoft certifications
• Experience automating, scripting, and streamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy
  

Prescreening Questions:

• What Windows or Vmware work have you done personally in the last 6 months, not part of a team? Aside from Patching, building or configuring or migrating we are looking for troubleshooting.
• If everything is answered with We did this or we did that, try to get them to tell you what they personally did.
• What Vmware or Windows troubleshooting have you lead, without a team in the last 1 year?
• I am looking for a person that has risen above the patch management candidates that are out there, we need real engineers that have been placed in charge of things.
