Joyful Co-Educators foster an environment that promotes the physical, mental, social-emotional, cognitive, and academic well-being of all children at Joyful Tots Childcare and Learning Center. The Co-Educator functions as a substitute for an absent Lead Educator and works together with them to create a team-like atmosphere. Co-Educators provide quality care in balance with social and intellectual experiences and assist with planning and implementing classroom activities.

• Maintaining professionalism with everyone
• Adhering to all security standards through proper maintenance of the building, grounds, and equipment
• Assisting educators in the classroom, however necessary
• Understanding and implementing the Joyful Tots Childcare and Learning Center curriculum
• Knowing proper nutrition requirements for the ages of children served and preparing snacks/meals as needed
• Providing professional supervision of all staff and children
• Ensuring Educators are documenting on tablets in parents’ communication apps and monitoring for dialogue
• Maintaining orderliness and cleanliness of materials, supplies, and equipment
• Functioning as a cooperative leader, willing to share ideas, time, and services, and help others achieve their best daily
• Opening and/or closing the center
• Completing requested tasks and assignments before deadlines
• Performing other duties as assigned by management
• Maintaining confidentiality of children and staff issues
• Keeping in communication with the Director regarding matters related to the operations of the center
• Representing the center at community functions when necessary

• Have a high school diploma/equivalent or higher, plus relevant work experience in education and/or childcare.
• Complete Pediatric CPR and First Aid training within 30 days from the hire date
• Complete Bloodborne Pathogen training within 1 day from the hire date
• Provide a negative TB test result document
• Be willing and able to continue their education by earning certificates and completing semester and clock hours.
• Be able to work independently and collaborate with others
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Have reliable transportation
• Listen and follow directions well, and have the willingness to serve others.
• Know and implement State licensing and health requirements, including being a mandated reporter.
• Be able to handle the physical demands of caring for young children, including sitting, standing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs., and having sufficient hearing and vision to monitor activity.
