- Responsible for the direct supervision of the personnel assigned to the Theater Ammunition Reclamation Facility (TARF) and the Ammunition Surveillance Workshop (ASW).
- Reviews planned workload and backlog, plans and schedules work based on mission priorities and makes assignments to, and monitors the daily performance of, subordinate employees, consisting of approximately 20-25 personnel.
- Work priorities are assigned by the 1st Sustainment Command (Theater) (1TSC) and passed to the Production Operations Manager for dissemination to the TARF/ASW Supervisor.
- Both operations require employees to unpack, sort, segregate, observe, clean, maintain, inspect, and investigate ammunition and components to determine their current condition and serviceability, as well as to perform minor maintenance (e.g., cleaning and stenciling) and repacking ammunition.
- Inspect storage buildings, applicable outdoor storage/field storage sites to ensure compliance with storage standards.
- Maintain compatibility and compliance with Net Explosive Weight (NEW) limitations established by the site license.
- Process internal requests for packaging materials through Storage and/or boxes through the Carpentry Shop, as needed to replace damaged items.
- Conduct daily safety briefings, applicable to the munitions planned for processing each day, to ensure that all workers are familiar with the safety precautions applicable for the ammunition to be worked.
- Track completed work at both facilities and assist in the preparation and maintenance of proper correspondence, records, and reports to cover all TARF/ASW activities, as required.
