Salary: Competitive salary including allowances

The opportunity:

As the Strategy and Planning Manager you will work as a trusted advisor to the VP General Manager and Leadership team of the SPM Eastern Hemisphere (EH) region of the Caterpillar Oil Gas and Marine Division (COGMD). Working closely with your senior leaders you will set the strategy and priorities. You will be responsible for managing the leadership accountability structure for the region which includes management of the strategic planning process leadership meetings strategic data and key strategic communications.

This is a highly collaborative and varied role where you will have a significant impact on the strategy and direction of company.

What you will do:

  • Plan coordinate and assist with the management of all projects identified as critical to SPM EH.

  • Network within the Caterpillar Enterprise to understand and identify initiatives that will require SPM EH action and focus.

  • Develop the structure and calendar for leadership accountability and implement e.g. monthly leadership meetings quarterly all staffs leadership visits etc.

  • Manage agendas for leadership meetings including regular leadership meetings quarterly All Employee Meetings and Production / Service Center Town Hall Meetings (as needed). Ensure action items are recorded with follow up to ensure items are completed and communicated.

  • Document the overall strategy for SPM EH in a format suitable for external communication. Ensure strategy documentation is kept up to date by working with SPM EH and COGMD Leaders.

  • Work with the leadership team to document key wins in strategy execution and provide updates to SPM EH COGMD Energy & Transport (E&T) Division and Cat Inc.

  • Manage the flow of information on SPM EH business and industry trends to E&T and Cat Inc Leadership.

  • Develop annual business planning documentation.

What you have:

Commercial experience: Demonstrable experience within a consulting project or change management role.

  • Progressive jobrelated experience Includes proven results in stakeholder management.

  • Possess business understanding with the ability to translate actions and to drive across the business.

  • Ability to set up new systems and processes and the influence to ensure these are implemented.

Alignment: Knowledge of the importance of collaboration among team members and the ability to enroll stakeholders in communicating and coordinating activities to support the organizations vision and strategies.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Involves team in discussions focused on clarifying and improving broad commitment.

  • Interprets the organizations vision for external stakeholders.

  • Establishes clear expectations and accountabilities linked to the vision.

  • Develops methods for effectively and consistently communicating strategy and operational goals.

  • Helps managers tailor approaches for mobilizing their team around the strategy.

  • Refines operational priorities over time to preserve alignment with vision.

Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside

own organisation.

  • Develops basic persuasive arguments.

  • Discusses organizational culture around providing input on decisions.

  • Uses active listening skills and probing techniques to surface opportunities to influence.

  • Identifies who the decision makers are and how they receive information.

  • Regularly presents ideas or suggestions to associates in persuasive terms.

CrossTeam Integration: Understanding of the importance of interteam collaboration in breaking down silos and achieving business results; ability to lead employees from various functions to communicate coordinate work across divisions and collaborate in solving problems as one team.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Maintains a strong internal network that promotes informal collaboration.

  • Shares information that may be relevant to other teams across divisions.

  • Assesses the potential synergies from combining common practices across teams.

  • Identifies differences among teams that could cause barriers to effective integration.

  • Applies relevant information gathered from comparable teams to own team.

Top candidates will also have:

  • Experience of working in the Middle East and Asia.

  • Project and change management certifications.

  • A bachelors degree or higher.

Additional Information :

There is up to 25% travel requirement for the role.
