Key Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of experience as Oracle DBA on Linux or Unix platform
o Note: Quality of work experience will be rated higher than quantity, meaning candidates with less years of experience might be considered if they are demonstrating exceptional skills
With vendor management experience in the region
Any Oracle certification is highly preferred
All technologies certifications a plus
Any ITIL certification a plus
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Business IT, Management IT, Economical IT, engineering or a related technical discipline
Skills and Competencies
Expertise in systems and database administration
Very good knowledge of enterprise storage technologies and architecture
Very good knowledge of virtualisation technologies and products such as VMWare and Oracle VM
Knowledge of Change Management frameworks such as ITIL
Very Good knowledge of network infrastructure
Sound knowledge of backup software and strategies
Very good command of written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic language is an advantage
Good leadership skills including people management, selection and development skills
Very good analytical, planning, forecasting, execution and problem-solving skills
Results oriented whilst ensuring high quality of work
Strong level of customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions
Good knowledge of health insurance concepts
