Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Piping Engineer to join our Project Management team (PMT). This Company PMT is directly responsible and accountable for the delivery of best in class capital projects assigned to the department. PMT is directly involved in executing and managing assigned projects safely on schedule within budget and to the highest standards of integrity and compliance. This will involve engineering design procurement and construction of various sizes types and complexity of small medium to multibilliondollar megaprojects. Project Management Department manages and execute projects from multiple site offices or engineering contractor design offices throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Mechanical Piping Engineers primary role is to ensure that engineering design procurement construction and project completion is done in compliance with the project contract requirements i.e. project schedule cost HSE and company standards and procedures. The role also includes involving in some cases to review and study mechanical modifications to oil and gas processing/handling and utilities facilities. Occasionally called upon to design mechanical aspects of new facilities of the types mentioned.

Responsibilities:

• Design or study mechanical modifications for oil and gas processing handling and utilities facilities.
• Execute capital projects while ensuring compliance with work scope schedule and budget.
• Manage the entire project lifecycle from preliminary engineering to detailed designs construction and safe turnover.
• Develop project proposals define work scopes schedules and estimates leading to funding approval.
• Participate in HAZOP Studies FEED (FrontEnd Engineering Design) reviews and detailed engineering.
• Manage contractors for detailed design material specifications procurement and construction bid packages.
• Contribute to contracting plan development and strategy for engineering procurement and construction contracts.
• Coordinate activities and resolve issues among stakeholders to ensure construction progress according to plan.
• Review project schedules and monitor project progress addressing contractor performance issues.
• Understand contract documents project execution plans change management and project schedules to support timely project completion.
• Lead multiple concurrent projects potentially with support engineers.
• Analyze schedules and budgets.
• Approve project work using internal standards industry practices and safety considerations.
• Develop piping material classes based on project requirements.
• Specify insulation paint and protective coatings on Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
• Select and specify manual valves and piping specialty items.
• Create and maintain internal specifications work instructions and job aids.
• Implement strategies to improve project planning cost schedule and quality.
• Evaluate existing tools and methodologies in project management and make recommendations for implementation.
• Conduct special studies related to Project Management.
• Assess the capabilities of Engineering & Construction contractors suppliers and project management service providers.
• Provide engineering support for hydrocarbon leak repairs and review bolted clamp calculations and designs for specialized leak sealing contractors.
• Review detailed drawings and material specifications for piping modifications as requested by the Layout Group.

Requirements:

• This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran Saudi Arabia.
• Ideally a Professional Registered Engineer.
• PMP Certification is desirable but not mandatory.
• Seven years of related experience preferably in the oil industry or a similar process industry focusing on the engineering design and construction phases of projects.
• Experience in supporting both small and largescale capital projects.
• Familiarity with International Engineering Codes and Standards.
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
• A dynamic attitude towards project improvements and cost savings.
• Experience in the GCC Saudi Arabia or with This Company is preferred.
• Familiarity with This Company standards is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of best engineering practices and a strong background in industry codes and standards (ASME API NACE ASTM ISO) as well as proficiency in engineering software.
