August 2024 Start The school is a bilingual IB World School situated in Muscat Oman serving the local Omani community as well as the bilingual expatriate community. The school was established in 1993 under the ownership of the Royal Office and Royal Oman Police Pension Funds on land donated by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to provide high quality international education whilst embracing traditional values based on the foundations of Omans cultural heritage.

We are actively seeking an experienced and passionate International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Homeroom Teacher to join our esteemed institution in Oman. This role presents an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the academic and holistic development of young learners within the framework of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Homeroom Leadership:
- Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social emotional and academic development of primary students.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students and parents fostering strong relationships and open communication.
- IB PYP Curriculum Implementation:
- Design and implement engaging and inquirybased lessons aligned with the IB PYP curriculum.
- Foster a love for learning through interactive and handson activities that promote critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
- Individualized Learning:
- Recognize and address the diverse learning needs within the classroom differentiating instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with learning support specialists to provide additional assistance to students as needed.
- Assessment and Feedback:
- Conduct formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents supporting continuous improvement.
- Collaborative Planning:
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects that integrate the PYP transdisciplinary themes.
- Engage in regular team meetings to share insights discuss student progress and contribute to the overall development of the primary curriculum.
- Parental Engagement:
- Establish and maintain transparent and open channels of communication with parents including regular updates on student progress upcoming events and opportunities for involvement.
- Organize and participate in parentteacher conferences to discuss individual student growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Education or a related field.
- Teaching certification with a focus on the IB Primary Years Programme preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience in a primary school setting.
- Familiarity with the IB PYP curriculum and philosophy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
