Laboratory Supervisor

1. Patient handling at the reception. • Supervises handling specimens to be stored or transported to reference laboratories. • Supervises the correct specimen requirements, criteria of acceptability or rejection. • Supervises all quality controls, quality assurance requirements and established guidelines as per Lab, Department or section. • Supervises the implementation safety policies, universal precautions and hazardous material management and waste policies. • Assures the routine patient test performance, including, as applicable, patient identification and preparation; and specimen collection, handling, processing and testing. • Overlook all the recording and reporting of test results, including, as applicable, reporting critical results. • Validate intermediate test results or worksheets, quality control records, proficiency testing results, and preventive maintenance records. • Oversee the performance of instrument maintenance and function checks. • Assess test performance through testing previously analyzed specimens, internal blind testing specimens or external proficiency testing specimens. • Assure that all lab protocol to perform laboratory tests and correctly log the results of those tests. • Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues that may arise with the laboratory equipment. • Assure that verification of all test results and ensure that they are correctly matched with the specimen. • Operate, calibrate and conduct performance checks on clinical laboratory equipment as per section guidelines. • Should have experience in CAP & JCI Accreditations
