Process Engineer
Fruitport, MI
This is a full-time, direct hire, exempt position with on-site scheduled hours Monday through Friday.
Job Summary: Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the development of new product process development and maintaining/improving existing production using sound engineering tools and practices.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Root cause analysis of downtime events and development of engineering solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Continuous improvement of existing processes.
- Work closely with management and tooling engineer to develop casting processes during tooling development.
- Work with process technicians to run casting trials and low volume prototype orders.
- Analyze all quality results (scrap and dimensional) and develop corrective actions.
- Prepare and present progress reports and develop action plans to address identified issues.
- Report periodically on program status to plant and management.
- Complete special studies on as required basis.
- Supports and participates in safety and/or quality programs and projects.
Work Environment:
This job is performed in both an office setting and production area.

Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering
- CAD knowledge
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and problem solving
- Ability to work unsupervised on assigned project list and complete projects on schedule.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at one time within a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of automotive customer and their requirements
- Ability to lead and work in a cross functional team environment
- Uses independent action and goes beyond what situation requires
- Acts with a view to what is appropriate, reasonable, timely, and realistic
- Remains open to new ideas and perspectives that differ from his/her own idea
- Demonstrates self-confidence in own ideas, judgments, and capabilities
- Making sure that work is done correctly, completely, and to the highest standards
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed
