HAZOP and Safety Engineer

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Engineering
• Minimum 5-10 years of previous Refining or Petrochemical industry experience
• Prior experience with the guide word HAZOP process
• Basic knowledge of process design, process safety technology and methodologies within Refining and Petrochemical processes
• Working knowledge of Process Safety Pressure Protection Manager (PSPPM) software would be an asset
• Familiar with API 520 Part I / Part II and API 521 requirements
• Knowledge of federal and provincial safety regulations applicable in the province of Ontario
• Basic understanding of safe operating procedures
• Able to work in a dynamic, team environment, fostering collaboration within the organization
• Able to critically evaluate situations and apply good engineering judgement to develop recommendations
• Possess excellent communication skills & ability to read, write & speak fluent English
• Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
