This newly created function will have overall responsibility in advancing the emission management program for This Company s Low-carbon Hydrogen (LCH) business and technologies in order to produce and commercialize clean hydrogen and ammonia. The Hydrogen Emissions Analyst is responsible for strategy shaping and implementation of best practices in enhancing the carbon intensity program (CIP), which traces greenhouse gas emissions across the clean hydrogen and ammonia value-chains. Additionally, the role will ensure adoption of best-in-class carbon capture technologies for optimal positioning of LCH products within various markets. The role requires regular alignment with internal stakeholders to ensure a common understanding and consistent assessment of carbon management initiatives for the LCH business. The Hydrogen Emissions Analyst will provide expert technical insight to support asset, business, industry and policy management teams; and will be This Company s LCH technical authority on the carbon assessment and management for its products, collaborating with best available resources when and as needed

Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
  • Establish carbon intensity internal standards with economic impact mechanisms.
  • Develop the Carbon Intensity Management (CIM) program strategies to optimize monitoring and assessment for emissions across the product value-chains
  • Develop product life cycle analysis (LCA) with cost benefit analysis.
  • Monitor existing, developing and anticipated regulatory changes, governing energy emissions and GHG reporting.
  • Maintains a full and current understanding of carbon trading activities, including for voluntary market and offset programs.
  • Engage and develop direct working relationships with relevant regulatory agencies including the Ministry of Energy and related authorities.
  • Collaborate with education and research institutes to participate and recommend sponsorship opportunities such as in technology development.
  • Proactively liaise and collaborate with internal stakeholders including Environmental Protection, Energy Transition, CCS and R&D organizations.
  • Harmonize activities with corporate objectives related to decarbonization and sustainability.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and professionals, through knowledge transfer and other technical resources to serve current and future business needs.
  • Support the research team (R&D) in developing, piloting and demonstrating in- house technologies.
  • Author and/or contribute to publications relevant to the carbon intensity technical areas.
  • Represent company interests at relevant local and international conferences, tradeshows and workshops, specifically on technical matters related to clean hydrogen and ammonia business.
  • Participate in technical engagements, taskforces, and roundtable discussions with the Kingdom s industry stakeholders.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor s degree Environmental Science, Sustainability Engineering, Carbon Management or related field; a MSc. or PhD. is preferred.
  • LCA certified practitioner (LCACP) or equivalent is strongly desired.
  • 12 years of experience in environmental related roles, preferably in the energy sector, with exposure to emissions tracking, management and reporting.
  • Working knowledge in GHG emission reduction, sustainability, climate change, carbon management and related fields.
  • Experience and good understanding of the Climate Action initiative, related policies, standards and procedures including disclosures, monitoring and reporting protocols.
  • Experience in LCA modelling relevant to climate change and environmental emissions
  • Knowledge of the LCA standards and guidelines.
