Equipment Specialist

Other key responsibilities are: • Assisting the Manager Equipment Development in product sourcing and cross-checking specifications for all items including documentation and design authentication. This also includes sourcing new materials, products and techniques from manufacturers and other companies to develop / update Qatar Airways equipment with the latest and upcoming trends available in the market. • Liaise with procurement and other end user departments in order to fulfil the requirements of the Department such as: • Review details of items with designers and developers in order to develop them as per QR standards. • Prepare documentation and pre-requisites for tender or proposal submission. • Prepare detailed reports in order to check for compliance and conformity of all equipment. • Provide status updates of equipment usage and follow through procurement requests. • Draft memos and evaluation reports to the business in order to update them on changes or modification that may be necessary in order to align with business requirements. • Organize evaluation sessions with stakeholders in order to prepare a detailed assessment report on equipment requirement. • Conduct cost analysis including indicative pricing assessment in order to procure items at reasonable rates for the department, thus ensuring cost efficiencies for the company. • Ensure proper sourcing of products and cross checking of all item specifications prior to submission of documents. This also includes consideration and assessment of new materials, products and techniques from manufacturers and other companies to allow Qatar Airways to always be updated with the latest and upcoming trends available in the market. • Monitor the tender process, including submission or acceptance of documents in order to ensure compliance as per company standards. • Monitor equipment improvement and its development including following up on its related processes such as pre-production development, samples, artwork and test material prior to finalisation. • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for on time delivery of materials and products ensuring that Qatar Airways procurement Process is followed as per approved SOPs. • Analysing collective feedback and suggestions from Product Design and Branding team as well as relevant stakeholders on the status of various project activities such as product design testing, trials and launch of products in order to identify and meet all timelines of projects implementation • Guiding and direct investigation of material and production process throughout the product and development lifecycle by coordinating with internal and external teams in order to deliver world class solutions. • .
