Design Director

• Mentor and manage all design staff on a professional and personal basis.
  
• Lead the Riyadh-based architectural & interior design teams in developing creative design solutions.
  
• Manage the Manila-based concept design / renders team.
  
• Coordinate with the Cairo-based draftsman team via the Riyadh-based technical director.
  
• Manage the Beirut-based freelance architects.
  
• Lead and coordinate with third party designers and engineers.
  
• Introduce and administer timesheets and coordinate time/cost ratio for each project.
  
• Clarify scope of work, prepare and regularly check on designers schedules.
  
• Coordinate with engineering directors and the technical director.
  
• Actively encourage existing Client contacts for additional project opportunities.
  
• Work with Riyadh-based and Khobar-based business development and the proposals manager on existing and prospective project development opportunities.
  
• Organize and administer the design database on the server.
  
• Introduce new design software.
  
• Be an ambassador for the company.
  
• Ensure all design team members adhere to company policies.
  

Requirements

• Masters degree in Architecture from a reputable university.
  
• Proven experience in a similar role with a regional / international design firm.
  
• 10-15 years of relevant design experience working on large scale projects.
  
• Extensive experience and proven ability in Business Development/Client relations.
  
• Ability to motivate and inspire others.
  
• Proficient knowledge of architectural principles, practices, process, and the application to project work-related issues.
  
• Experience with building planning, drawing standards, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of restorative and new design projects.
  
• Strong creative, visualization, and technical drawing skills.
  
• Working knowledge of relevant building and construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
  
• Excellent leadership skills.
  
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
