Cost Accountant

We are seeking a detailoriented and experienced Cost Accountant to join our team at a construction company based in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles particularly in cost analysis and management. As a Cost Accountant you will play a crucial role in monitoring and controlling costs to ensure efficient project execution and profitability.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze project costs including materials labor and overhead expenses to ensure accuracy and identify areas for cost optimization
• Prepare and maintain cost reports budgets and forecasts for ongoing projects
• Monitor project budgets and expenditures comparing actual costs to estimates and identifying variances
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to assess project profitability and make recommendations for costsaving measures
• Conduct regular audits of project expenses to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Assist in the development and implementation of cost accounting policies and procedures
• Provide financial analysis and support for decisionmaking processes related to project planning and resource allocation
• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in cost accounting and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
• 3 to 4 years of experience as a Cost Accountant preferably in the construction industry
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
• Knowledge of relevant laws regulations and standards related to cost accounting
