- Ensure all maritime documents, including bills of lading, manifests, and customs paperwork, are accurately prepared and compliant with local and international regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in maritime laws and regulations and ensure the company's adherence to them.
- Coordinate and manage the logistics of shipping and receiving goods via maritime routes.
- Collaborate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation.
- Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing shipment status updates, and resolving any issues that may arise during the transportation process.
- Contribute to the optimization of the supply chain by identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
- Work with internal teams to streamline processes related to maritime logistics.
- Identify potential risks associated with maritime operations and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Monitor and manage insurance claims related to maritime shipments.
- Analyze data related to maritime operations to identify trends, assess performance, and make informed recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, finance, and operations to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Foster positive relationships with external stakeholders including shipping agencies, port authorities, and customs officials.
- Monitor and control costs associated with maritime operations, including shipping fees, customs duties, and other related expenses.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising service quality.
- Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure the safe and secure transportation of goods.
- Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to make strategic recommendations for business growth.
